About the Artist

     Cheryl Aiken is an animator, photographer and writer who works in the Greater Toronto Area. For the past 6 years she’s been in school developing her practice. She has spent 2 years in Ottawa at Algonquin College getting a Diploma in Photography. And 4 years at Ontario College of Art and Design University. Completing her BFA in Integrated Media Specializing in Digital Painting and Expanded animation with a minor in Creative Writing.

 

     Over the past year she has been working on her Capstone project. It is a short film using the technique of stop motion animation. The film “Feeling Blue” exhibited at OCAD U’s Grad Ex in May and has also been shown at the Royal Cinema in Toronto for TAIS' Local Exposure show. 

 

     After completing her degree, she is hoping to work in Toronto at a studio. She also wants to continue being apart of TAIS’ wonderful animation community.
